My Baby’s Little Food Journey ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅ•

After daycare, I always ask my baby if she wants to eat something and she always surprises me. When I say, “What do you want?” she confidently orders her favourites: paprika, carrots, apple, and cucumber.

The "No Mixed" Rule: Real Meals

This is where things get interesting! She never eats anything she hasn’t seen before, and when it comes to "real" meals, she has some very specific rules:

Refuses almost all foods with tomato sauce, stew, or anything "mixed." If it looks like a casserole, it’s a hard pass.

The Soup Paradox: She absolutely LOVES simple, natural soups like meat soup meat soup) or chicken soup as long as they’re perfectly clear and white ๐Ÿคฃ. The color matters!

Her Comfort & Safe Foods

When I need a guaranteed win to know she’s eaten a proper meal, I turn to these reliable favourites:

• Lax fish Salmon

• Sweet potatoes

• Sometimes a hotdog (which I try not to give too often!)

• Meatballs (even though I sometimes worry it might not be enough for her little tummy)

I’ve learned that I can’t force her. As long as she’s eating something she enjoys and is happy, I’m choosing to stay calm and follow her pace.

Sweet Spots: The Swedish Favourites

She also has a sophisticated sweet tooth with very specific demands!

• Chocolate

• The classic Swedish pepparkakor (gingerbread cookies) we eat during Christmas season.

• The only ice cream she likes is the Piggelin stick ice cream nothing else will do!

A Little Note to Myself and Fellow Moms

Every child is different, and we are learning together every single day. Some days she eats like a champion, and others she survives purely on cucumber and love! It’s all a phase, right?

Quick Mom Tip:

Since my little one is such a fan of raw snacks, finding great, fresh produce is key! I personally love to shop at Hemkรถp because I can always rely on getting crunchy, fresh vegetables and fruit there. Let's Talk! ๐Ÿ’›

How are your babies with food? Are they picky too? What helped you introduce new textures or flavors, especially if they hate "mixed" foods? I’d love to hear from other moms in the comments below!
